Xtrasil Protect

Chemical preservative
Apraksts:

Helps to acidify grass for silage when the weather is bad!

Improves, deepens, accelerates the acidification of the drug mass to be acidified.

Prevents butyric acid formation, moulding and scorching.

Protect forage quality when others can’t!

Packaging: 1000 l or 215 l
Product features:
does not spoil the taste of the feed
does not cause the acidifying mass to thicken
no need to prepare a working solution
the product is ready to use
the product does not damage appliances
not dangerous to humans
effective at relatively low doses
no need for special preservative applicator, dispenser
Your benefits:
excellent taste and smell of silage
high edibility and digestibility of silage
significantly lower losses of silage dry matter, energy, protein, etc.
preventing the growth and development of yeasts and moulds in silage

Canned forage with Xtrasil Protect:

  • grass silage
  • cereal silage

To be used when conditions for acidification of forage are difficult and at the same time there is a high risk of silage heating, moulding, spoilage:

  • when the activity of biological species and natural acidification is hampered
  • when the dry matter of the grass to be acidified is low (around 15-30 %)
  • when silage production takes place under adverse weather conditions (rainy weather)
  • when the material to be acidified is contaminated with soil, dead or decaying plant parts, manure, etc.)
  • when the grass bladder has been left in the field for more than one day and there is a risk that bacteria have already grown in the bladder and the grass is starting to spoil
  • when the silo is filled over several days and the mass to be acidified is exposed to air and precipitation
  • when the acidifying mass contains a low concentration of sugars
  • when the grass mass to be acidified is high in protein and minerals (why more lactic acid is needed for acidification)
  • where analyses of the silage produced regularly show butyric acid
  • where silage has a generally unpleasant smell and where it is suspected that undesirable micro-organisms have interfered with good fermentation
  • when the dry matter of the material to be acidified is too high for good and proper acidification to take place
  • when the feed contains high levels of sugars or starch
  • when bacteria, yeasts and moulds have grown in the material to be preserved
  • when the feeding rate is too slow
  • if the feed is usually mouldy, hot, spoiled during storage, after opening the container or on the feed table
